How do I prevent latex paint from blistering?

2nd coat is blisterin When I try to put on the 3rdHow do I prevent latex paint from blistering?
Hi, It doesn't matter how many coats you put on, it will blister unless, it is fully and completely, 100 percent dry, dry, dry! Even if you have to wait a week, then wait. Or you'll get, well you know. It blistering because moisture from underneath is trying to escape. And it WILL escape one way or another. And if it's raining outside,or it's very humid,or if someone has just taken a shower, you need to allow extra drying time for that.Another thing is that your not supposed to paint when it's raining, going to rain,or has just rained. You'll need to sand it down after it does dry(you need to let dry first, or it will just keep blistering) Then use a good primer, and LET IT DRY. Then you can do it all over again! An easy way to get the blistering paint off, is use Easy-Off Oven Cleaner on it. Only use the one in the Blue Can. It is fume free, and easy on your skin. That will take it off,and if you leave it on too long, it will take everything off, down to the drywall paper. So, only let it stay on for 5 to 10 minutes, then wipe off with a sponge. Sounds like it is due to preparation. Did you prime before the first coat? More than likely the first coat is not binding to the surface. you will probably need to remove all the old paint that you can scrape off. Sand the surface well and let the paint dry between coats.Good luck
I would say that there is a moisture problem under the paint. Scrape the current coating of paint off and make sure the surface is dry before repainting.
let the 2nd coat dry completely before proceeding.
This sounds very strange. If you are painting a second coat over the same type of paint you should have no problem. I have never heard of that happening. If you try to paint a lacquer over an enamel the enamel will blister and shrival up, Are you sure the paint is the same??
