Can I paint my concrete garage floor with interior latex paint?

I don't park a car in there, it is basically just for storage and a workshop, will it adhere to the concrete in the long term? Can I paint my concrete garage floor with interior latex paint?
No. Without the proper prep and paint, it will peel.

You first need to prepare the concrete by using a combination cleaner and degreaser.

If the surface is smooth, you need to use a concrete etcher so that the paint will adhere.

Fill in any cracks or holes with a product like Dap Self Leveling concrete filler and sealant.

Use a concrete floor paint like Behr's 1 part epoxy garage floor paint, or Rustoleum's 2 part epoxy garage floor paint. Behr and Glidden both have floor paint that would work fine on a floor you won't be driving on. All of these paints can be tinted any color.

It's important to use a product that is made specifically for painting concrete floors -- as opposed to concrete/masonry wall paint or regular latex paint -- if you want it to last.

Good luck!

No, what will happen is when you roll something over it like a cart or something, the paint will come off the concrete and stick to whatever is putting pressure on the floor. You are going to have to seal the concrete first then put the right kind of paint down, that is unless, you want to do it twice. Good luck.
no, it will not work. my daughter have a big mess in her

patio, she painted it with latex paint and everything peeled off; it looks terrible, she is planning to hire someone to come power wash it all. so with this you should go to home depot and ask what the best way to do your garage; so you do not have to go through so much work and expense.

No, you want concrete or floor paint.

Here is a list of the ty pes of paints you can use on a garage floor.

It will probably work, but it'll crack and there is paint just for cement floors that would work alot better and they don't crack.
Interior latex paint will adhere, but it won't hold up to much foot traffic. You need to use a special paint for flooring.
Probably not satisfactorily.
No, it will not work. they make paint for cement floors, they usually come in 5 gallon jugs. go to a home depot or lowe's
