Okay, long story short, I got latex house paint all over my nice coat :( Does anyone know what might get it out?%26gt;How do I get latex paint out of a coat!!?
If you are not sure that you can get the paint out at home you might consider taking it to your local cleaners and let them get it out. It would depend if you think your coat is worth the charges of the cleaners. Look at it this way, if you try and do it yourself and it ends up being in worse shape than before you started you are out a coat, but if the cleaners say they can get the paint out and they mess up the coat even worse, then they have to make it right with you. It is your decision about the cost of the cleaners vs. the coats worth. How do I get latex paint out of a coat!!?
Try denature alcohol
wash it as soon as able, mom says, latex is water soluble until totally dry, don't dry it in the dryer, that sets the paint, after the first laundry, if some paint is left try scratching at it with your fingernail, is it pealing off, keep it up on the other missed spots and wash again, maybe with some pretreatment this time, don't dry, look at the coat well, still spots, take a tooth brush and 50/59 mix of liquid soap and start the scrubbing, hopefully your coat is durable, like jean or canvas, otherwise watch witch way you scrub as to not damage the fabric, wash again, hopefully by now it is clean, hang dry, don't use the dryer yet, after it dries for a couple of days, look the coat over again for any smears of paint, if you find some repeat last steps, hang dry again and look at it, as soon as it is completely clean, wash a last time and dryer it to put it into shape,

all this is only if the coat is washable to begin with, and the value of the soaps isn't above the cost of a new one.

mom says next time you paint to make sure that you are wearing play clothes that you can throw in the dumpster when done painting
