Buy new carpet.
It's difficult. You have to go to the courthouse and file eviction papers and wait for a hearing and get the sherrif out there to oversee the eviction......what a headache!

your best bet is to call the paint manufacturer and follow their advice.
Baby oil is good to remove latex paint. It's not as harsh as turpentine. But you'll need to wash the area with a good carpet cleaner to get the baby oil out. Pour a bit of baby oil on the paint and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then wipe it off. You may have to repeat the process.
Ivory soap, water and a stiff bristled brush. You have to let it soak to soften up the paint...the brush should peel it right off the fibers but it takes some elbow grease. FOR GOD'S SAKE DO NOT USE PAINT THINNER!!! IT WILL ROT YOUR PADDING AND THE BURLAP BACKING!!!!

Replace the carpet. Try paint thinner just a little bit on a rag...
Very difficult latex paint and epoxy modified paints tend to bond to carpet fiber. The best option is to cut and replace the area if possible with the same carpet. If it is a continuous filament nylon you can try and ';Shave'; off the paint spot.





Otherwise you are SOL
Lighter fluid works great on most latex and tar type spills. Soak a cloth and dab, not rub wet paint and if the paint is dry set the rag on the spot for about a minute to soften the latex and then dab.


You can also use a paint thinner or enamel reducer if you have it. These work better but cost money if you don't already have them.
