Every holiday season, as I extend that familiar peppermint hook towards my mouth, I inhale and can only make an association to the smell of interior latex paint. Of course, it still tastes like peppermint. Between brands, the scent is still there, but especially ';Bob's'; seem to be the most pungent. Why is this so?Why do candy canes smell like latex paint?
