How can I get dried latex paint out of carpeting?

Latex paint is water soluble, a mild soap and water combination should soften it up and you can then comb it out of your carpet. DO NOT USE MINERAL SPIRITS OR THINNERS!!! It will make it the consistency of bubble gum permanently and you'll never get it out!How can I get dried latex paint out of carpeting?

There is a product called Goof Off.It will disolve latex paint that is years and years old.You should be warned though, that the smell is very strong, and should not be used around animals or childrenYou should wear a mask while using this product. If you can take the rug outdoors, that's better. If not, have some febreeze ready to spray the odor away.Use this product sparingly,as it is very strong.Put a few drops on the paint wait for it to work, and use an old toothbrush to scrub the paint.

i agree with Doug, but use warm water and try not to soak the carpet too much.

you can also use a sharp putty knife or be very careful with a razor blade. the kind you use in a box cutter. please push away from yourself so you don't get cut. OUCH!
