What does a gallon of latex paint weigh after the water evaporates?

I contacted someone that I know who worked in the manufacture of latex paint for 35 years. He said that about 50% by weight of the mixture is water. Except for white paint, a small amount of non-water tint is added for color. Since water weighs 8.345 pounds per gallon, the weight of only the water in a gallon of latex paint is approximately 4.17 pounds. When the paint dries, all the water has evaporated and the remainder should weigh a little over 4 pounds (not including the container).

He also said that a few of the factory's customers have been known to water down the paint in order to save money.

Even though half the paint by weight is water, the non-water ingredients are petroleum based so are lighter in weight than the water and therefore take up most of the volume.
