Hello,

Your have created a problem for which the is no quick solution.I do not intend discourtesy, in deed, you damaged one area in order to improve another. . Keeping lots of damp paper towel around when doing walls, helps to quickly clean up spay and running onto the wood work..

Most people seem to have no idea why there is woodwork in the first place.. In the future I predict living spaces will not have any because of the price of the beautiful woods and future scarcity with an exploding world birth rate in many cultures. An oak tree takes at least 100 years to grow and time can not be hurried like fast-food.

There is no quick solution. I assume this is not rare and exotic wood that is elaborately worked, but average and attractive edging.

I guess these are TIPS for addressing it.

1.............very fine sand paper (320 or 220 grit) %26gt; lightly sand and follow up with a matching stain. There are actually only a few colors of stain.(not jillions of colors). This matching pretty closely the color is the frustrating part. Really, you should then varnish over the dry stain because the next homeowner will someday wash the woodwork and all the unsealed stain will come off on their rugs.

2.......I use a single edged razor blade.for straight runs and with a light touch you will not gouge into (scratch) the wood.

3.........chemicals?........no such animal.

Is this of some help? When you listen to the radio when doing this unpleasant work it seems to go quicker.

Isopropyl alcohol will soften any latex paint. If you are unable to find it in a hardware store, it is the main ingredient in the good gasline antifreeze for cars.
Use acetone on a rag, make sure not to get any on the wall though cause it will strip the paint on the wall just as easily and make sure to wash your hands well after using because it will cause tons of damage to clothes, carpet, anything that you may get it on.
Use a cabinet scraper to carefully scrape it off.
