Can I paint over wood that has 2 coats of latex, then 2 coats of polyuethene on it, using just latex paint?

The polyurathene coating immediately turned the white colored paint to have a yellow tint, which has turned even more yellow over the past year. Can I paint over wood that has 2 coats of latex, then 2 coats of polyuethene on it, using just latex paint?
No, you should either sand down some of the poly or use a primer. I would recommend a primer like Kilz or Glidden Gripper primer. One to two coats of that, and then instead of using poly over latex, use a high gloss latex enamel. This will dry harder and be protective. Hope this helps!
